Description

Fathers of the Faith: Pentecostalism in Nigeria is the story, and stories, of those people, over the years and decades, whose life and ministries have shapened the course of the gospel in Nigeria, especially after the work of the earliest missionaries. It is the story of people who gave direction, in their various ways, to the church in Nigeria. The story of the PLANTERS, rather than the REAPERS. There are great men of God in Nigeria whose God-given role has been more of “reapers;” but this book is about those whose God-given role has been that of “planters.” They were there when no one else was there, as it were. It is written by a participant-historian, rather than a research-historian. It is first-hand knowledge, most of the time. It is not a chronological biography, but more of a spiritual odyssey.

In the book, you will read about Archbishop B. A. Idahosa; Apostle/Prophet T. O. Obadare; Pa S. G. Elton, and a host of others. It’s the author’s personal experience and encounters with Fathers of the Faith in Nigeria.

Another book by the Author: It’s A Goal…

Francis Akinnola, an apostle by calling, is a participant-historian in the writing of this book. His ministry started as a nine-year-old kid at the St. Thomas’s Anglican Church, Akure; from where he became a vital part of the Scripture Union (SU); after which he became an executive member of the Christian Union, University of Benin. He was a part of the Pentecostal movement in Nigeria; he was also a part of the charismatic and faith movements. He was personally acquainted with great servants of God – – Archbishop Idahosa, Pa Elton, etc. He became the Apostle that brought Pentecostalism, in general, to the old Ondo State. He is considered the father of Pentecostalism in Ondo Kingdom. He worked with Apostle Obadare. He worked with Rev. Mac Nwulu in Eastern Nigeria. He is a colleague of several servants of God about whom he has written. He has been through it all – – the evangelical move, the Pentecostal move, the charismatic move, the Faith Movement, the Apostolic/Prophetic End-time move of Life and Immortality. He is worth listening to. This book is worth reading. It’s his personal experience and encounters with Fathers of the Faith in Nigeria.
